Making a difference in the lives of Fort Worth shelter pets
UAFW, Inc. was founded in 2017, but our story began many years before. We started as a Facebook page for networking the sick, injured, and otherwise unwanted shelter pets at Fort Worth Animal Care and Control. While we’ve had tremendous success helping to find adoptive homes or rescue organizations to save hundreds of these pets every year, we wanted to do more; to save more animals. That is why we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization so we can do just that!
The purpose of Urgent Animals of Fort Worth is to advocate for pets in Fort Worth area shelters. Our primary focus as a nonprofit is to rescue and rehabilitate those that need help above all others - the animals that are sick, injured, or neglected.
Our dedicated volunteers work diligently to help the animals in need from our community. Countless hours are spent networking, educating, and working to find new ways to help as many shelter pets as possible.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are currently on hiatus from taking any new pets. We hope to resume shortly!
If you would like to foster a pet through our rescue, you can get started by completing a foster application! We cover all expenses including food and medical care while the pet is awaiting adoption.
Join our volunteer team to help with an array of tasks such as assisting at adoption or fundraiser events, transporting pets, administrative duties, and more! Make new friends and/or earn volunteer hours while helping our rescued shelter pets. Your time can make a world of difference!
